چکیده

Methods 24 children aged between 4 and 13 who achieved tolerance to milk after CM immunotherapy were included. Specific IgE to cow’s caseine, sIgE to whole goat’s milk and sIgE to whole sheep’s milk at baseline and at 24 months follow up were analised (CAP-Phadia). The patientes were classified in two groups: high risk (17 patients) and low risk (7 patients) based on the premedication need, number of adverse reactions and time to achieve a complete tolerance to CM.

“Allergy to Goat/Sheep’s Milk with Good Tolerance to Cow’s Milk but Not to Cow’s Milk Cheese: Identification of 1-105 Peptide from κ-Casein as the Molecular Basis of Reactivity toward Cow’s Milk Cheese

In Europe, a new population of patients developing anaphylaxis to goat’s/sheep’s milk associated to tolerance to cow’s milk has recently appeared. Nevertheless, among these patients, some show allergic reactions to cow’s milk cheeses but these reactions are less severe than those directed against goat’s/sheep’s milk. The objective of the study was to the molecular determinants of the reactivity...

Mutational analysis of immunodominant epitopes of caprine β-casein recognized by IgE antibodies from patients allergic to goat’s milk and tolerant to cow’s milk

Background Several cases of allergy to goat’s milk (GM) without allergy to cow’s milk (CM) have been reported. GM-allergy has also been reported in CM-allergic children successfully treated with oral immunotherapy. We previously demonstrated that IgE antibodies from GM-allergic/CM-tolerant patients recognize the caprine b-casein (bcap) without cross-reacting with the bovine b-casein (bbov) desp...

Allergy to all mammalian Bovidae proteins but cow's milk in a child.

Cross reactivity between mammalian proteins (cow, goat, ewe, buffalo) has been previously described in both in vitro and in vivo studies. The highest homologies are observed between the milk proteins from cows and other Bovidae, being on average 96.1% for buffalo, 91.1% for ewe, and 87.6% for goat. Lower sequence similarities are associated with proteins contained in milks from Suidae (pigs and...

PD28 - Is other bovid mammals milk tolerated by children who have been submitted to cow’s milk oral immunotherapy?

Introduction Caseins cross-reactivity rises up to 90% between cow’s milk (CM) and other bovid milks. There are few studies on tolerance to other mammals milk in patients submitted to cow’s milk oral immunotherapy (CMOIT). AIMS: To determine the percentage of patients whom after CMOIT tolerate water buffalo (WB), goat and sheep’s milk proteins (MP). To describe immunologic features which can pre...

but robust approach towards the identification of markers that enable the prediction of the outcome of oral immunotherapy for cow’s milk allergy. By means of ELISA, the authors determined specific IgE, IgA, IgG subclass levels against cow’s milk extract, natural single cow’s milk allergens and the egg allergen ovalbumin in 40 children with cow’s milk allergy before and after immunotherapy. Seve...
